There is a growing isolation of youth in urban communities, along with an increasing number of single parent families. These factors have created a tremendous need for mentoring programs to help youth avoid risky behavior and to secure hope for their future.
RIF MENTORING PROGRAM
“Help a Child, Touch the Parent, Change the World”
The Teen Mentoring Program pairs youth with caring adults who take an interest and make a commitment to invest in their lives. Mentoring programs are effective in helping to build and restore self-esteem among youth. Programs nationally have shown improved school attendance, less aggression and violence, improved parental relationships, and a positive attitude toward helping others. Caring adults, role models and positive community interactions are developmental assets that are typically missing in poor and inner city neighborhoods.
There is a growing isolation of youth in urban communities, along with an increasing number of single parent families. These factors have created a tremendous need for mentoring programs to help youth avoid risky behavior and to secure hope for their future. Rise In Faith is launching a Teen Mentoring Program to become a part of the solution, to help fill the gap and restore assets for positive youth development.
We also assist teens who have entered the court systems as 1st time offenders by means of educational classes addressing alcohol/drug addiction, violence, communication, and coping skills to give the youths the tools needed to remain out of the court system and become productive members of society.
Statistics from various mentoring studies show children who are mentored are: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, more likely to have improved social skills and improved relationships with adults and peers, more likely to be hopeful about their future.
A big part of the solution is to provide positive role models for the children and provide referrals for additional assistance to families.
If you know a child struggling day to day, please contact us. Our staff is eager to assist with the challenges our children are faced with. You can also email the referral to info@riseinfaith.org

Some of these activities include household budgeting, drop-out and truancy prevention, home energy conservation, parenting classes, family movie and game nights, social responsibility programs and domestic abuse awareness.
Our Health and Nutrition activities offer a variety of programs that promote health and wellness. Our goal is to advocate health education, offer nutritional guidance and encourage youth to engage in a more active lifestyle.
Our activities include teen health and wellness education, drug and alcohol abuse prevention and awareness, exercise programs, cooking classes, and more.
Pride and Leadership are fostered through programs that encourage youth to be proactive members of their community. We believe this is crucial to promoting self-sufficiency and developing safe, family focused neighborhoods.
